Hey There,
So as much as I would have liked to, I have somewhat failed at keeping you up-to-date. India was not exactly abundant for wifi, save for my last week there and while I could have stocked up on prewritten blogs to share more of my journey with you, I didn’t… so let me catch up a bit. And maybe I’ll do better from here on out.
Without further ado:
Encounter and Healing on the Streets. [In Northern Ireland]
Encounter is a part of an internship available at the church and they let us all participate for a day during our month in Northern Ireland. It is all about encountering God is a different way and sharing that moment with the people God had specifically chosen to encounter that day.
The day that I joined in, a group from our squad and about 8 interns or participants drove to a small town close to our city to do a Treasure Hunt. We spent some time in prayer and during that time, asked God to give us details of who He wanted us to meet that day. These details could be extremely specific, or seemingly vague to us at the time. Essentially, God spoke, we listened and wrote down anything we heard him speaking to us.
Some things we wrote down during this Hunt were: the name Mary, the color green, a young girl walking with her mom, a man wearing rain boots.
Once we wrote these things down and shared them we split off in groups of four or five people. And we looked for these things and people and asked God to direct us as we walked through the town. It was incredible the way that God aligned the people that we met and how they matched with the details we had written down. We were able to share what we were doing and how God had led us to talk with them and simply share the love of Christ by praying for them and the worries of their hearts. Truly a neat experience.
Healing on the streets…
Man oh man. This was an incredible ministry supported by the church. It was started by a man named Mark Marx. The church now hosts Healing on the Streets every Saturday, rain or shine, as anyone passing through the town square is invited to take a seat and share in the hope God gives for healing.
Mark conducted a 7 hour training for us on our second full day in the country. In that training he shared about the authority we carry as believers in Christ and about his passion for people growing in their faith of God as the ultimate healer today.
[God does not want us to have hurts – of any kind]
In that training I watched as God used a bold man’s faith to ask and command healing to heal backs, straighten and lengthen legs and speak life over the lies and fears our squad had been carrying around for years.
It was powerful to see. I believed this to be possible before seeing it with my own eyes. But this only deepened the understanding in my heart of the Father’s heart for me.
[19 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Fatherdoes, that the Son does likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel. John 5:19-24]
And it also blew me away to understand more deeply that I carry this authority. I can walk in this boldness. I can pray for these things. And God hears me.
[“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. John 14:12]
God is the same today as he was before the creation of the world. His son walked the earth. And he did as the father sent him to do. And now we walk in the authority of the Spirit.
Believing in Him for all things to be possible.
[7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8]
Our Route has changed: We will be in Swaziland for December. And following this we will travel to South Africa, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and CHINA!
I am currently in need of $3500 to be fully funded.
If people donated $11 on the 11th of November – it could be a cool thing. Just saying.
