“When you walk into a room you bring Kingdom with you.”
-Ryan Hughes
Our debrief in Bucharest was a super busy and intense few days. We arrived on Sunday and left on Friday. It was so long, but so short. Ryan Hughes and Sean Smith were the AIM staff that we had at our debrief which was amazing. They are awesome men of God who encouraged the heck out of our squad in just a few days. Of course, our wonderful coaches Randy and Betsy were there sharing their wisdom with us as well. This debrief was so different than the last one. At this debrief it was very much a time for us to just bask in the knowledge and encouragement from Ryan, Sean, and the Garmons.
Sean talked about how “free people are attractive”
Randy went to some places that many men are afraid to go, which started some healing in more than just one of us.
Betsy reminded us we are superheroes. But sometimes, we put our capes on backwards and what that looks like.
But one of the most impactful messages I have heard in a very long time was from Ryan. We as a squad have been told multiple times that where we walk, we bring Kingdom because of the power and authority we walk in. But, for me, this time was different. It started out as kind of a “yeah, yeah I know… here we go again with this Kingdom talk”, but it ended with me on the edge of my seat, with my mind blown because of the truth that I heard.
“When you walk into a room you bring Kingdom with you.” That thought. SHOOT DANG! The fact that we carry the power of the Kingdom in our steps because we carry the Holy Spirit in us is so intense. I know that so often I get caught up in what I need to be doing, where our ministry is going to be on any given day, the task we need to accomplish that I don’t look at the big picture. I forget that even in the little things, I am bringing Kingdom. The steps we take are meaningful and the Lord has entrusted each step into our care. So if we do not take care to bring Kingdom with each step we take, how many opportunities are we missing?
Back in Honduras one of the things our contact Tony always said was, “Don’t miss the opportunity.” We just can’t let Kingdom things pass us by. They are too important and too necessary to shove them off to the side. When we bring Kingdom to the darkest streets that have never even seen a light, it is more than a headlamp in the darkest room. It is lasting and will produce fruit.
Rest on the fact that in Christ, you are a Kingdom Bringer, and with the knowledge of that comes a responsibility to actually do it. We have the authority to bring Kingdom to lands that others have deemed unworthy.
Enough blogging for now, it is time to bring some Kingdom to the sand streets of my village in Ukraine.
