My expectations for the world race…

I, like many others before me, decided that I didn’t have any expectations. But…. suddenly I realized that I have a ton. So without further ado… here they are.

Before I leave:
-that God will show me that he is the holder of all financial things
-that I will be heartbroken to leave everything I know
-that I will grow closer to my squad
-that I will burn with passion for the 11 countries I am going to
-to be stretched
-to be told that I am crazy
-to be encouraged
-to spend a ton of time wondering what I am going to take and what doesn’t get to come with me
-to be ROCKED at training camp

While I am gone
-to cry when I say goodbye
-to love so much I feel like my heart might explode
-to worship in a different language
-to share things with my team that won’t make sense to anyone else
-to grow closer to my Savior
-to learn what breaks His heart, and let it break mine also
-to miss my family
-to miss my friends
-to want to go home
-to crave alone time
-to be uncomfortable
-to be challenged and loved by my team
-to learn what real discipleship looks like

I really am trying not to have expectations. I know things can change in an instant and I know it will go by faster and slower than I think it will. I am just so excited for God to work. I know that he has all of my expectations in his hands and the good ones he will totally blow out of the water more than I could ever imagine. The negative ones he will cover with his grace and his promises. I can’t wait to see the work that he does around the world.
