The last few weeks have been a flurry of activity getting our new house ready to be a home for the ComLife crew’s arrival on Sept. 1st. Here’s a pictorial view of our new digs. I didn’t post them all here, but you can check them out in their entirety on my photo page
here.
Here it is–The ComLife House. We’re in love with this home. It’s a little old and has it’s quirks, but it’s got some great character!
Our new address is:
1075 A Riverside Dr.
Gainesville, GA 30501
(send me mail!!) ๐
Talk about real community-8 girls with 2 bathrooms!! The one on the left is kind of in one of the bedrooms…but we’ve made a faux hallway with a pretty curtain for more privacy. I’m not going to lie, it’s pretty small and 3 people will share it. The one on the right is the main bathroom and 5 of us will share this one.
The dining room and kitchen. Can you believe we found this huge table for $75?? There will be plenty of ‘breaking bread’ had around this great table! The kitchen is great, but is pretty much a hallway…so there’s not much room to move around–cooking for 10 is going to be a blast!! But I LOVE the big windows with lots of plants! (God knew I needed that!) ๐
The living room. This amazing couch was only $100! We will all have some amazing naps here and sweet fellowship time. It really is the best couch I’ve ever seen. ever. I’m very pumped. ๐ The fireplace doesn’t work…so we’ll have to make due with some candles or something…That white plasma tv stand is not staying there…but we’ll use it for extra seating. We’re working on getting a small TV that will go right under that ‘lil built in wall shelf. Movie night!! woo hoo!!
Jess is at the computer/crafting table in our sun room. Talk about creative juices flowing in this room–I love it! We’ll have a house PC hooked to the internet and also wifi access. I brought my sewing machine and knitting materials galore. (get excited!) We’re working on getting some comfy chairs for the corners to make a lil reading nook. I’m in love with this room. You will probably find me here…um…always.
Things wouldn’t be complete without scary house pictures! This is the creepy basement that houses our washer and dryer. The other one is our prayer room!! No, we’re not forcing everyone into a dark, small attic room to pray…we’re hoping to fix it up real awesome-like, make some floor pillows, add some musical ambiance and create a sweet little prayer get away space. I know you can envision it. In any case, it will be a fun community project to get it looking like someone would actually want to spend any time in there!
I hope that gives you all a good idea of where we’re living and a bit of what I’ve been up to lately. God’s really been hooking us up with GREAT deals on furniture and so many people have pitched in to help us move things in and get situated. I can’t wait for everyone to get here and for all of the vision to unfold as we walk life out together here in Gainesville!
