Hello friends! My name is Amanda Dums and I am a true Wisconsin girl through and through. Don’t even ask—it’s true….I LOVE cheese! (If you’re from Wisconsin, you understand!) I grew up in the small town of Rib Lake and went to college at the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse. I studied Sociology and graduated in May 2005. Since graduating I’ve lived in Cairo, IL where I’ve been working at a place called the Two Rivers Community Development Center. Part of my job included planning activities and programs for the center, and the other part ofit consisted of seeking God’s face in prayer for transformation of this hurting community. I was stretched and moved beyond my comfort zone and through obediance was able to see more clearly God’s desire for intimacy. I am continually amazed at His goodness towards us! For two summers now I’ve worked with an organization called Youthworks where I traveled to Arizona and Alaska to lead youth mission trips. What amazing places! It’s exciting to watch the eyes of teens light up when they truly “get it” and can enter in with the one who created them. Whoever said that Christianity was boring was WAY off—our God has excitement and adventure around every corner. I can’t wait for
this year of adventure to begin!

Some other random tidbits about me: I love music. (yes, I do sing in the shower!) Reading good books stir me (I usually am in the middle of about six at a time!) and I enjoy writing a bit as well. I like to think of myself as crafty. In fact, one of my favorite hobbies is knitting and sewing! I know it’s a little grandma-ish, but I love it! I love traveling and seeing other parts of the world and interacting with different people as well. I’m always up for exciting little adventures and random outings with good friends.

The World Race will be an exciting adventure with many learning opportunities. I am most excited to see and be a part of the movement of God. As we humble ourselves, prayand serve others He will move–I can’t wait to see it happen!
