We walked one mile from our village to the next, past cornfields and down a gravel road.  There we met Victor, a man with little in terms of worldly possessions, but so much passion for Christ he can’t help shouting about it.  After talking to him for awhile he lead us back to his tiny one room house located in a small gypsy compound.  I was immediately taken aback.  Laundry hung drying on barb wire fences, a big bonfire burned in the center and a handful of children were running around on the cold dirt ground… barefoot.

On this chilly 14 degree winter day as we stood inside Victors little mud house I was overwhelmed.  I couldn’t help but think this was the true definition of poverty.  They worked hard, but because of cultural stigmas and rotten luck they had very little. They could barely afford food let alone warm winter clothes.  It broke our hearts.

So we decided to so something about it.

Over the past 12 months God has been incredibly faithful to me. When I started this whole World Race process in October 2010 I was terrified.  Terrified of raising money, but more over terrified by the amount.  I just kept thinking $15,500 is a new car!  But of course God provided and as time went on I made every fundraising deadline as they approached.
Today I’m not the same girl who left in July.  I’m a girl who sung to a hurting child as they lay in a hospital bed,  a girl who’s prayed healing over a paraplegic, who saw healings, God show up and God work… and while I’m excited to share these stories with everyone, I’m not reading to share them in person yet.  There are many, many more stories that need to be experienced and shared, but I need your help.  My final support raising deadline is fast approaching and if I don’t have the full $15,500 either in my account or pledged by January 1, I’ll be going home.  That means I have just over a month to raise the final $4,200 needed.

Now, here’s a way you can help meet two needs.  For every 100 dollars raised in my account over the next 10 days my team has offered to use their personal money to buy socks for a child in the gypsy village that needs them. So will you step up and help keep a gypsy child warm this winter?  Will you help me stay on the World Race?
