A story has the power to bring forth laughter, produce tears, move people to action, or inspire something new.

In February, our team worked with an awesome contact, Gracie. She and her husband have lived in Honduras for quite some time. She has worked with the police force and advocates for children in need. Currently, she has a home that houses girls who have become pregnant through rape and incest, their children, and children who are unable to be cared for by state-run orphanages. While serving at Gracie's house, I was able to spend time with these incredible kids. Here are some of their stories.

Gracie was called one night to take in a baby who could not be cared for by a government run orphanage. Upon meeting this boy, Gracie saw more than a baby with a serious health condition; she saw a miracle waiting to happen. The right side of his body was covered by a massive tumor. Although benign, the procedure to remove this tumor was extremely risky. But God moved in an incredible way and now he's a happy kid capable of anything and everything, with a scar to remind him of God's incredible love.

When this precious girl arrived at Gracie's, she was extremely malnourished and weighed a meager 20 pounds. She was skin and bone. Amazingly, she survived and is at Gracie's house today. In addition, she has cerebral palsy. But that doesn't stop her from inspiring others. Her eyes are incredible and speak volumes. She sees and understands so much.

This boy is one of the newest additions to the home. His mother was taken in while she was pregnant with him. After giving birth, his mother became very rebellious and eventually attempted to run away. She did so by jumping from the second story of their housing with her baby in her arms. Thankfully both were unharmed. Although his mother has left, this precious child is still at the home and is grabbing the heart of everyone he encounters, including mine.
