So it’s official, I’M GOING ON THE WORLD RACE!

This September, I will begin an adventure to 11 countries in 11 months to share Jesus with people all over the world!

This past month, I got the call that I was accepted to go on the World Race. To say that I was excited would be an understatement. There is simply nothing as sweet as knowing that you are right where the Lord wants you, and that is how I feel now.

How in the world did this happen? I had heard this “World Race” thing mentioned here and there for quite a while, and always thought, “Oh that sounds amazing, wish I could do something like that”. But it wasn’t until I recently had a few friends go on the World Race when I really looked into what it was all about. As soon as I started checking out the World Race and AIM (Adventures in Missions), I was hooked. I stalked too many racers’ blogs, watched every video I could find, and started to feel like this was something I just had to do.

I prayed continuously about this opportunity for months, and every single time I felt the Lord say “go”. Everything the Lord led me to when I read in the word said “go”.

Ever since my first mission trip, I knew I wanted to do more. The Lord put missions on my heart years ago. But this was not a part of my plan. I will graduate college in May, and had always planned to go straight into graduate school and do mission work eventually, after I had a steady job and had saved up plenty of money.

But HIS plans are SO much greater. The Lord’s timing is better than I could ever have planned for.

Going right into grad school would be the safe thing. It would be respectable in terms of the world, and would ensure a secure future.

But I have SUCH a peace and such a joy about the World Race. I am ecstatic that I get to do this! A huge part of my spiritual growth has involved both travel and missions. My heart loves adventure, nothing makes me happier. I love that the Lord has led me to this. He knows my heart so well and I am pumped for Him to use me on the WR this year!

The World Race for me is saying “yes” to what God has for me. In the past I have struggled committing fully to the Lord, living with one foot in God’s kingdom and one stuck in the world.

I once heard a sermon about how life with Jesus isn’t about just saying yes to Him the first time accept him as God. It is a daily choice. Its about saying yes to the Lord each day. It is about getting up each morning and committing to what he has for us. That is something I am working on, and I know that saying yes to the World Race is what He wants!

I will need support and prayer as I begin this adventure. If you would like to partner with me in this journey by supporting me financially, you can click the “support me” link to the left. I ask that you would prayerfully consider supporting me in this way!

I will be updating this blog often, in these months leading up to the race and in my 11 months on the race! So if you’d like to follow my journey, this is the place to do so!

Thanks for reading!
