What does it look like when Jesus kisses you? What does it look like to be loved by the King of Kings? I believe it looks different for everyone; and how beautiful is that?! Jesus knows me better than I know me. He knows what I need when I need it and He gives it to me freely, lovingly, and without hindrance.
I love Valentine’s Day. I am not ashamed to say this. I love Love and a day that celebrates love is a day that I will participate in! Who cares if it was created by Hallmark or whatever other reasons people have to not celebrate.
This Valentine’s Day I spent with Jesus in Nepal. WHAT?! My team and I went to a church about and hour outside of Kathmandu. Once you get outside of the dusty city you can really see the beauty of Nepal; crops of produce and wild flowers littered the landscape. It was so beautiful it took my breath away. The pictures I have do not do it justice. In that moment I felt Jesus embracing me. I felt His kiss in the crisp breeze. I could do nothing but stand in awe of the Creator. I said out loud, “I feel Jesus kissing me right now! I feel Him all around me, hugging me and wooing me.” Being surrounded by creation and knowing that He created it for me to experience and to give him glory when I see it! I can do nothing more than praise Him for His goodness. Is this really my life? Is this really our life? Stop and take a look around you today. Notice the creation that was created for you to enjoy. Whether that be a snowflake, or an icicle, or a sunset, or a tree, God created these things for us to enjoy. Take a moment and enjoy it and give Him the glory He deserves!
As if that was not enough Jesus gave me the opportunity to go on a date with Him and a squad-mate, Allison. We “got-away” to Thamel and spent the night in a hotel. We went out to eat and I had the best pizza I have ever eaten. We had great conversation over dinner and throughout the night. We bought ice-cream for dessert and went back to the hotel and we each had a HOT shower with running water!!! If that isn’t a Valentine’s Day gift from Jesus I don’t know what is. Jesus knows me so well . He does not stop seeing ME because I am around the world from my “comforts” He is my Comforter and my Provider; and He gives good gifts.
What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with the One who is Love?
