As I’ve been praying about what to write for this next blog, God put this into my mind.

I will first ask a question, how is your relationship with Jesus?

Are you on the firm foundation, the Rock, which is Christ Jesus? Or are you on the sand? Because you are either not on the Rock at all, you’re standing on the Rock, or you’re clinging to the Rock. This concept I’ll explain further but first let us read, “The Wise and Foolish Builders”.

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?  As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like.  They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” (Luke 6:46-49 NIV)

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. ( 1 Corinthians 3:11)

Jesus is our solid foundation. No matter the storms of life that come, no matter what crisis, disaster, hardship, struggle, pain that will come, Jesus will never change. His promises are true. We are beyond confident in our Rock.

“This is what the Lord says— Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.  Who then is like me? Let him proclaim it. Let him declare and lay out before me what has happened since I established my ancient people, and what is yet to come— yes, let them foretell what will come. Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.” (Isaiah 44:6-8)

“I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psalm 18:1-2)

“For who is God besides the Lord?  And who is the Rock except our God?” (Psalm 18:31)

“The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior!” (Psalm 18:46)

Our Rock is firm, solid, immovable, unchanging, and everlasting. Now where are you? Really evaluate where God intends for you to be, and where you find yourself at. My goal and purpose is to encourage you all to be clinging to God, our Rock. I have spent too much of my past life living for myself, that since I’ve truly given my life to Jesus, I’ve had such a desire to encourage others to live their lives fully for Jesus, fixing our eyes upon Him.

Let me try to articulate what came to my mind early this morning as I prayed for what God wanted me to write. Now when you’re on the sand you’re living life on your own terms in your own ways. Doing whatever pleases you and makes you “happy”. A life in which you don’t want consequences for the things you do.

When in all reality these consequences are inevitable and life is still hard outside of Christ, yet with Christ you have the ability to overcome all opposition, your hope is living; it’s not from your own strength or your own source. We are all messed up people who hurt others, led away by sin and pleasing ourselves, yet God sent His only Son Jesus to pay the price for all the bad things we’ve done. It’s nothing that we’ve done, but it’s everything that Jesus did for us. Its called grace, it’s undeserved.

Now when you’re on the rock your foundation is Christ. Therefore I wish to expand more deeply upon this life style. Specifically within stagnate relationships of a lot of Christians today. You’re standing on the rock. You believe in Jesus but you’re not growing or you’re not living as to what His Word says. So therefore when the storms of Life come, when the waves of struggles, hardship, temptation, smash into you, you find yourself slipping, stumbling or falling because your life isn’t fully surrendered to Jesus. A relationship in which we still worry, fret, show evidence of our old selves before Christ, and shout at God, why me? You see the enemy of our souls, Satan, constantly is tempting us with what we struggle most in our lives with. Therefore idols in your life must be completely abolished because that temptation and the giving in, is hindering your relationship with Christ.

We have all been in that state in our relationship with Christ and yes we still continue to fall short, which is why it’s even more important, even more essential that we cling on for dear life to our Rock, Jesus!

“Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”(2 Timothy 2:19)

Cling to the Rock. CLING to the ROCK! When you cling to Christ you trust Him at His Word and promises. Meaning that no matter the fiercest storms which encompass you, or anything that happens to you, you hold fast to the assurance that God is for you, nothing happens outside of His divine will for your life, you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. Cling to Christ for dear life for He is our only hope.

“You shall follow the LORD your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.’(Deuteronomy 13:4)

“For he clung to the LORD; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the LORD had commanded Moses.” (2 Kings 18:6)

“My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.” (Psalm 63:8)

My encouragement for you is to Cling to Jesus, continue daily to grow in relationship with Him. Rid your life of the idols that hinder you from your relationship with Christ and others. Win souls for Christ; share His Gospel with all people. Everyone is in need of a Savior, no one is exempt, the only Savior we have is Jesus. Love you all!
