For this is what the Lord of heaven’s armies says: In just a
little while I will again shake the heavens and the earth, the oceans and the
dry land. I will shake all the nations…I will fill this place with glory…and in
this place I will bring peace.
Haggai 2:6-7
O squad is in Thailand. Physically, we’ve moved continents
and changed teams. Spiritually, we’re still moving to new places.
For quite a while the idea of a shake up or a shift has been
around. It took a while to realize that in the physical world, that meant team
changes. (A deck of “Costa Rica cards now carries the name of every person on
O squad and was used in this decision making process. Don’t worry, God had
ultimate control). So, I’m no long on Team Shiloh. My new home is Team Deep
Waters. More on that amazingness soon. Another crazy blessing from this
shake-up: Garrett “Long Boy McNeill is stepping up to lead O squad with Nathan
and I. Love it. Also, more on that later.
leader, better than a shake up in the physical world…
God is shaking things in our lives and spirits in new ways. He’s moving me out
of a fog of focus on myself and into a focus on Him and the things of His
glory. He’s shaking up the ideas I have about who I am and letting them settle
into who I am in Him. He’s shifting the “about me mentality and showing me the
sweetness of pouring myself out. He’s breaking up the foundations of what I’ve
built relationships on in the past and setting a new foundation. He’s
untwisting the strengths He gifted me with from the manipulation of how this
world has played with them. He’s replacing the frustrations and cries of the
wilderness with a new joy and love in Him.
Ya know what? Shaking, moving, breaking, shifting, untwisting,
replacing…those may not sound like pleasant things. They may not always feel
the best in the moment. But if God can greater use that which is shaken, moved,
broken, shifted, untwisted and replaced…bring it! Because I know that His
plans are greater. That His love for me is more vast than I can imagine. And in
the moments when I throw 5 year old tantrums and ask “Why?! He will be there
to tenderly speak hope.
lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her there. I will return her
vineyards to her and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope.
