When I was accepted on the World Race I was aware of the amount of money I would have to raise. But usually when someone asked me how much the trip would cost, I’d answer with “About a thousand dollars a month.” I guess it sounded more possible than “$15,000.” It’s hard to keep this from sounding cliche, but I’ve never seen more clear evidence of God’s provision than in the last four months. Financial support for this trip has come from all over the states, from so many people, and in so many packages. One package that definitely made me smile was the biohazard bag from my ER co-workers. 🙂 Right now I have just over $8,000 in my account and an amazing peace about the remaining amount.

Malachi 3:10 “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”

It has been so humbling to have so many friends, family, co-workers, and complete strangers partner with me on this adventure. Simply to have the opportunity to live out this dream was overwhelming. And now, to have all of you behind me on this…I don’t know that I can really express how much it has meant. I pray that throughout the next year you’ll share the impact of what God will be doing in the places my team ends up. And I’ll be doing my best to keep you more updated on what’s going on during this last month before I leave the States!
