Hello!
My name is Allyson Quinn, and I am originally from Chickamauga, GA. I have two brothers and a sister whom I love dearly. I graduated from Gordon Lee High School, and then headed to Athens where I have spent the past 5 years at the University of Georgia pursuing my bachelor’s degree. The first 4 years I cheered for UGA, and I just recently graduated with a degree in Mathematics Education. Some things I enjoy are listening to music, singing with my wonderful roommates, having family (and roommate family) dinners around the kitchen table, holidays, coffee, running, sitting on the front porch, beautiful weather, the sky, and studying God’s word with older, wiser men and women.
I accepted Christ at a young age, but learning what it means to be a disciple has been, and continues to be an ongoing process. I can’t even begin to explain all that has happened in my life throughout the past 5 years, but the most important thing I have learned is that I was created to live a life that is holy and pleasing to the Lord. God has filled my heart with three specific passions – a passion for Him and His word, a passion for people, and a passion for travel. He has been teaching me what it looks like to love Him and to know Him, and the World Race is an opportunity for me to respond in obedience to all that God has shown me. God has used numerous people in my life including family and friends to show me what it means to love Him with all of my heart, mind, and soul. The truth is, I am a sinner. On my own, I am nothing, but because of His great love, mercy, and grace, I am alive in Him. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty!
As I continue to seek God’s plan for my life in this upcoming year, he reassures me daily that He has called me out from my home, my family, and my friends on a journey to make the name of Jesus greater. To be honest, I don’t know exactly what to expect, but I know that there will be moments of joy and moments where I’m asking my self what in the world am I doing here! I want to ask each of you to continue to pray for me, my team, and the men, women, and children who we will come in contact with as we travel to 11 countries around the world. I am so excited for what God is doing now, and for the plans He has for the future. Thanks so much for joining me in this journey and I hope that you are blessed by seeing what the Most High God is doing outside of our community.
“Therefore, get your minds ready for action, being self-disciplined, and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance but, as the One who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct; for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy. And if you address as Father the One who judges impartially based on each one’s work, you are to conduct yourselves in reverence during this time of temporary residence. For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from the fathers, not with perishable things, like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish. He was destined before the foundation of the world, but was revealed at the end of times for you who through Him are believers in God who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. By obedience to the truth, having purified yourselves for sincere love of the brothers, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again—not of perishable seed but of imperishable—through the living and enduring word of God. For All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like a flower of the grass. The grass withers, and the flower drops off, but the word of the Lord endures forever!”
