Introducing my new team….Team Pursuit!

We just had team changes after month 3, and my new team is made up of: Julia (our team leader), Joe and Abby (who are married), Hannah, Chuck, and myself.

We all decided that we wanted a simple, one-word team name, and we discovered that God had been speaking the word pursuit to each of us in different ways over the past weeks and months.

That word has come up for me a couple of different times since we started the race. In the beginning, I was struggling with thoughts of situations that I left back home. Then over time, the issue became focusing on all kinds of trivial things that were not Jesus, like seeing sights, writing blogs, uploading pictures, etc. After communicating some of this to my dad through e-mail, he responded that I needed to single-mindedly pursue Christ and everything else would fall into place. Those words have been on my mind ever since.

So for our new team, we want to pursue Jesus and His will with all of our hearts, as well as relationships with each other. I'm ready to get serious about what I'm truly here for – I don't want the remainder of my race to look anything like it did the first 3 months. Those 3 months were amazing, but I wasn't centered on Jesus fully, as I intended to be. I assumed it would be easy to focus solely on God on the race, but it's just the same as it is at home. It's still a choice that must be made daily.

Matthew 6:33 – "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
