Peru Top 11
11.  McDonald’s and Starbucks. Enough said.
10. Doing fun little activities for family time every day like card games, colouring, etc. and snuggling on the boys beds for feedback afterward.
9. Hand hugs. Revolutionary.
8. The five birthday parties we had. So much cake.
7. Having a really bad migraine, and my host family staying up with me and massaging my feet and my head. Never have I felt so unconditionally loved and cared for by strangers.
6. Snuggling every puppy and baby that I saw.
5. Gobbling at the flock of turkeys that lived on the roof of a house down the street and then listening as they gobbled back at us. Some of us (Rikki) peed their pants from laughing so hard.
4. Worshiping/ dancing on the rooftop almost every day and seeing the sun break through the cloud cover as we worshiped.
3. Going to my very first prom, and it was the best/most awkward evening of life. So amazing.
2. God giving me a word for the town of Laredo. I was worshiping and I got a picture of a desert. I asked God what it meant and He said “Look where you are.”  I looked around at the desert around me and then the song “My Soul Longs For You” by Jesus Culture came on. One line in the song is “I believe you will come like the rain”. God said to me that He is going to come like the rain over Laredo. Then later, I was reading in Ezekiel, the story of the valley of the dry bones. I saw Laredo as the valley and as we prayed, the bones joined together and life emerged. Powerful.
1. Climbing to the very top of a gigantic sand dune/mountain. I didn’t think I would be able to do it when I was at the bottom looking up, but God provided in more ways than one and though the trek up was still hard, it was so fulfilling. I really learned that in my weakness, He is so, so strong.
It was an excellent month this month. We are definitely sad to be leaving, but so excited for what God has for our last month in South America. Bolivia here we come!
