So, as much as I would love to tell you all about the fabulous place of Ecuador, I have yet to set foot on that soil.

As we arrived the Miami International Airport, complete with buzzing nerves, we were told to check in and then we would all go through security together. As I strode up to the electronic check-in booth, it politely asked for my passport. As I went to open the pouch that my passport has lived in for the past 2 and half years, I was struck with a wave of terror and nausea as I realized that it was missing.
That’s right folks, I lost my passport. I’m now one of those people.
I cried off and on for about two hours, and then watched as all of my squadmates happily made their way through security to the gate. Without me.
After my amazing squad humbly gave me some money and made sure I was covered in prayer, I made my way around the entire Miami airport trying to file a police report and formulate a plan as to where I was going to go/what I was going to do. I contacted the Canadian Embassy, and they told me exactly what I needed to get a new passport issued immediately.
I then told my mother….
She was surprisingly calm(ish) and didn’t freak out too bad. She paid for me to have a hotel room and made up a plan for me to get some passport pictures taken and to get to the Embassy as early as possible tomorrow morning.
So, here I am. Still in Miami. By myself.
There are many questions I could ask God about why this happened to me, but honestly, what good is that going to do now? I know that His plan is always better than my plan. There is a reason I was delayed a day and not landing in Ecuador right now. I don;t know what it is yet, but I know who my God is. He is a big, powerful, almighty Father who loves his daughter ferociously. I am not going to give the enemy the satisfaction of dwelling on the negative. I will instead look at this as an opportunity for God’s glory to be shown. He has already shown up in amazing ways. I can’t wait to see how He continues to show up.
Anyways, I should get to bed, but please please pray that everything will go smoothly tomorrow and I will be once again reunited with my beautiful squad.
Mucho love from Miami.
