‘Twas the month of Malaysia, and all through the teams

A small hope of Christmas was inside our dreams:

Earlier mentions of Malaysian past

Made Noel seem a thing in contrast

To all we had heard.  This Islamic state

Was lost. To our sadness, we accepted our fate.

We boarded the plane and arrived on the ground

To find there were silver bells hung all around.

Presents were wrapped and placed near the plants

This small little gesture made us all want to dance!

The start of debrief made our hearts very wary

Till the news of a noel-themed mall made us tarry

When we heard the whole story, our hearts they did flutter

And words of a Christmas-y December were muttered

On to the KL-GO bus we did fly

Waiting for Santa to come into sight

We stopped at the Pavillion, and all we could do

Was stare open-mouthed at the Christmas up-do

We laughed and we played and we watched Christmas shows

Cause a hint of US holidays gave us joy head to toe

I looked all around, felt the comfort of home

Then knew something was missing, Christ came to my dome.

The meaning of Christmas was lost in the mess

Of shopping and getting, just like the US

Once again it was changed; it all was selfishness

And a desire to pray came straight from my chest.

Please pray for Malaysia, their hearts are still dark

And Christmas with Christ around here is quite stark

While blessed in America with freedom of belief

The news of our Savior will be a relief

Merry Christmas, my friends, and Happy New Year too!

Give praise to the lamb, who laid his life down for you!
