Last week ended with a most spectacular wedding in SC. I had never been to the low country, heck, I had never
heard of the low country, but after being there for a weekend I will definitely go back. It was absolutely gorgeous – think movie set! Giant oak trees lining the roads, spanish moss hanging low and sand-packed roads. It was sunny and 70 and could not have been a better scene for a wedding. Jacob and Erin were both with me on the 2nd World Race and I love them both. Their story and marriage is one for the books and it is amazing to see them both walking so clearly in the favor of the Lord. Incredible!
We managed to drive right past an IKEA on our way home and God-forbid we drive past an IKEA! It is almost as exciting as seeing a Publix! Pulled in and in typical fashion I picked out half the store and then by the time we got to the counters I had decided I didn’t want most of it. gah! Came home with more candles than I know what to do with.
I can’t pass up cheap candles and picture frames! Truly, I must have 10 of each sitting on the floor of my room empty and with no home. It is like I am just compelled to buy them. I know I don’t need them, but holy smokes, they are only $2! Of course I have to have them! It is weird. Anyone else with a picture frame and candle obsession? Anyone need any picture frames or candles? I seem to have a plethora!
There was a red wine catastrophe at my house this week. I breezed in one evening from the gym and grabbed a glass of red wine on the way to the shower. My plan was to sip while I decompressed from the day and read a book. Somehow in the process of turning on the shower my hand caught the edge of the wine glass and it managed to splatter absolutely everywhere! The ceiling, the baseboards, the cabinets, the towels, the door, the brand new, WHITE bath mats. Nothing was un-scathed by the red wine. I didn’t have it in me to clean it up at the moment, so I continued on my shower while plotting my stain-removing strategy. Needless to say, I climbed out of the shower and it honest to goodness looked like someone had been murdered in the bathroom. Bleach, club soda and cold water have pretty much cleaned the scene of the crime, but it was rather ridiculous!
That should catch you up on the randomness of this week. I am currently posting from a very fun coffee shop in Atlanta. It is nice to be in the “big city” for an afternoon! Met this morning with a great potential ministry partner and met some refugees from Nepal. Incredible to think there is some great International ministry right down the road and praying about ramifications for my life. Love to all of you!
