I spent last week in Costa Rica with the October 2008 racers for their FINAL DEBRIEF! This was the very same squad I started on the field with last October and I can hardly believe it has been 11 months!!
Seems like just yesterday I was standing in the LA Airport wondering why in the World I was doing this again. Why in the world was I climbing back into a sleeping bag and tent? Why in the world was I agreeing to live 5 more months out of a very tiny backpack? Why in the world was I giving up rights to personal space and showers? WHY???!?!
God didn’t take long to answer my questions.
I had the absolute BLESSING of doing life with these amazing people.
They have taught be about giving and receiving unconditional love. They have taught me about earning respect vs. commanding respect. They have taught me to lead from brokenness. They have taught me to lead even when I don’t feel like it. They have taught me how to give and receive feedback. They have taught me that I am NOT really cut out to be a hardcore World Racer. They have been Jesus to me over and over again.
I wish you could meet them and just hang out with them for 11 months. i know they would change your life.
They changed mine.
