“Arise, shine, for you light as come, and the glory of the Lord rises
upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over
the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over
you. Nations will come to you light, and kings to the brightness of
your dawn.” Isaiah 6-:1-2
It was a whirlwind trip back to the States and as I sit in the airport ready to board my flight back to Hong Kong I am in awe of what the Lord is doing
ALL OVER THE EARTH. I was able to make the quick trip home for a beautiful wedding marked by God’s hand in so many ways. It was a sweet time with family and we were even able to celebrate my birthday and Christmas!
I ran through suburbia yesterday morning enjoying a brisk wind, fall colors, and zero humidity and heard the whisper of God. He was asking if I could see what He was doing ALL OVER THE EARTH. Sometimes it is so easy for us to get tunnel vision and only see what is in our close proximity. We see the pain of people near us; for me it is the naked, hungry kids or the thousands of unemployed people in Manila. And on the other hand we see the hand of God amidst amazing circumstances such as a thriving Bible Study in a local church, children dedicating their lives to Jesus, or sick people healed.
It was if as I ran the Lord revealed so much to me about what He was doing, not just in Manila, but ALL OVER THE EARTH. My 7 days back in the US provided so many opportunities to talk about my experiences and share with others, whether on the plane, in the security line, or at lunch, about what He has allowed me to experience. In a random chance encounter I have a blog-stalker-turned-friend, Michelle, that drove to the airport in Guam at 4AM just to meet me and hear about what the Lord is up to. Unfortunately, my plane was delayed and I missed her, but just the fact that ALL OVER THE EARTH people are hungry to hear what God is doing is an encouragement.
Next, through some divine randomness, I had lunch Saturday with 2 guys who are convinced there is more to life and drove 4 hours to grab a bite to eat and hear what the Lord is doing ALL OVER THE EARTH. They sat and listened while I was on Holy Spirit speed and nearly bounced in my chair in excitement. Wide-eyed and dropped jawed we discussed angels and demons, healings and raising the dead; and of course, why they should go on the World Race!
As I reflect back over the week, and even the last month, it is hard to ignore the hand of God. It doesn’t matter where I am in the world; His Glory is so apparent. Whether I am in the slums of Manila or an upscale restaurant in Ohio His Glory is
ALL OVER THE EARTH.
In current times that is awfully encouraging. Stock markets are crashing, important elections are pending, children are starving, prostitutes are lonely, but His Glory continues to fill the earth. Many don’t have the privledge I have to travel and see evidence of this Glory ALL OVER THE EARTH, many only see what is in their backyard or on their media, but I want to make a mighty shout that God is still on the throne and His Glory continues to fill the earth.
I know the God who wins. I know the ONE who will shout VICTORY! I know we have a defeated foe and one day every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. I know the God who is in charge of all the treasuries. I know the God who appoints all leaders. I KNOW this God.
