I really didn’t want it to come down to this, but the Lord uses strange things to teach me humility and money is one of them. Raising support is a hard thing for me because it addresses issues of pride. It is hard for me to ask for things that I should be able to provide for myself. The world tells me that by this stage in my life I should be self-sufficient and not depending on others for money. The Bible has a little different view:
“In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.” I Corinthians 9:14
I have been walking a fine line the past months vacilliating between standing in faith that the funds for round two will come in, and watching in desperation as my support account stays at the same number. I believe it takes an active faith for support raising. The element of faith allows me to believe that the Lord has called me here again and will always pay for what He orders; but the active part of me writes support letters, mails postcards and prays daily for funds.

My needs are becoming immediate as AIM requires at least $6,900 in my account in order to leave with the squad on Saturday. At this point I have $4,400 in my account so I will need approx $2,500 in the next week to meet AIM requirements. Gifts of $10, $20, $50 make a huge difference to my account and are so appreciated. On average my blogs get about 200 hits–if every person could give at least $10 the deficit would be met and off I go!
At the end of the day, this isn’t about me and my support account. This is about the Nations. This is about hungry children being fed, widows being hugged and orphans hearing ‘I love you.” This is about a new generation of Americans rising up to take care of our neighbors on the planet. This is about them.
