Sarah is the reason I am still here. Hands down, without a doubt, I woulda been on the first plane home if not for a little conversation with Sarah on the porch of the Swazi house. First week of the Race I had pretty much decided that everyone was crazy and this lifestyle was crazy and no way was I staying to play their crazy game.

Enter the Swazi porch and Sarah’s shoulder to cry on. She gently reminded me that I signed up for this crazy adventure and God was in control and I would be ok. Thank God for that conversation! From that day forward we were forever bonded by tears and have enjoyed every minute.

We have had some funny times since then, a few that are too inappropriate to share on the world wide web, but good nonetheless. We have traveled some hard roads together and had some TOUGH conversations, but the Lord has been faithful through it all.

Sarah has the gentlest spirit and most tender heart of anyone I know. I will never forget how she ministers to the forgotten, overlooked, and downtrodden. She has been such a light in so many dark places and has touched so many hearts.

Sarah is for sure my junk-food sister and we could sniff out an ice cream store from miles away. I could always count on her to convince me it was ok to eat dorritos and oreos for dinner and I pretty much blame her for my Africa weight gain 🙂 Coming from the East coast, she has also taught me to say “wicked” before any adjective. (wicked funny, wicked dirty, etc…) Her quick wit is hard to rival and she is always ready with a funny retort.

I have seen her come alive this year and am so thankful we traveled the world together.

Sar–i love you girl. You have been there from the beginning and there is no end! I can’t wait to hear about the wedding plans and come see you guys. Thank you for loving me no matter what, and always making me laugh. See you in August!!
