Meet my new friend, Adonis. He lives in San Pablo, Guatemala, the city where we are doing ministry this last week. Yesterday we went to church and the Pastor asked if we could pray for a little boy. As per usual, we didn’t know what we were walking into as we were led to his house.
Most of the villagers in San Pablo only speak their tribal language, Tzutujil, so our conversations exist through 3 translators, but a hug and smile go a long way. I have absolutely no idea what is wrong with his little back, but I do know that it is not normal and he has trouble breathing. I also do know that a simple operation for $2,000 would change his life. I honestly can’t imagine having a child that needed an operation I couldn’t provide and just having to watch him suffer through every day.
Yesterday as we prayed over him the Lord spoke 2 things to me: 1. He will grow up to be an amazingly anointed man of God. 2. His family had consulted witchdoctors or alternative healers. We subsequently prayed to break any curses over him and also encouraged his family that he will be healed in the name of Jesus. Will you join me in these prayers?
Our ministry here in San Pablo has been a lot of fun. For the first time this year we are doing some hard core manual labor as a team. I am LOVING every minute in this city and relishing the beauty. The beauty of the World Race, the beauty of my team, the beauty that God has surrounded us in. I am literally breathless every morning when I go on the roof to pray. It is one of the most stunning places we have been all year.
Thank you for your prayers as we wrap things up here. So many thoughts, so little time. Rest assured it has been the best year of my life. And the hardest 🙂
