Our time in the Philippines, and Asia, is rapidly coming to a close. I know we aren’t supposed to have favorites, but this one definitely ranks right up there. I have loved every minute and have shed many a tear over leaving my precious friends.
Pray for Manila and the people of the Philippines in general. And consider coming to visit–I guarantee you will have a fantastic time.
Because we have been involved in so many ministries it is impossible for me to share about them all, but please check out the blogs of my teammates for some awesome stories of God’s power in Manila.
I thought a wrap-up was in order to capture all that we have seen and done. Enjoy.
Our time here started with the holidays…and the beach!
We returned to Manila for New Year’s Eve and quickly jumped into ministry the first week of the year. A lot of my time was spent visiting with the ladies in the squatter community outside our front door. They were a HUGE blessing to me I learned so much from their servant’s hearts and hospitality.
Combined with our daily visiting I also was involved in the beginning stages of the Jeepney Magazine. They are hoping the first issue will be out the 1st of March. Please pray for Bill and Debbie Shaw and their vision for Manila. They have truly stepped out in faith to change lives here. Through some connections of theirs I was able to make some amazing new friends at a random Bible Study, a magical pastor and a friend for life, Janette. Thank you all for sharing your lives with me. You are in my prayers and heart!
Just this week I had the opportunity to visit Tondo, the site of the trash dump for Metro Manila. I honestly can’t process the things I saw and am still trying to come to terms with WHY? But, I know God is sovereign and these people will be redeemed. As you look at their precious faces pray for them.
Of course we can’t forget our time in Subic Bay for the marathon…
Needless to say, it was a month of fun, sun, smiles, and a huge movement of God. I loved it!
