When I accepted a spot on the World Race in late October, I immediately began praying about the fundraising process. I have gone on two mission trips within the past year so I knew that I had to be creative with fundraising for this trip. One idea was to make something tangible to sell.
In mid-December Faith Rings came to my mind. Faith Rings are gold wire rings. The rings have 11 loops representing the 11 countries I will travel to and 7 beads representing the 7 team members that I will be serving with. I have chosen 11 different colored beads; 1 color for each country. This is a small tool that I hope helps people remember to pray for my journey and share my story. Prayer is the single most important way to prepare for this journey each and every day, every step of the way. With that said, whichever color bead you choose, you will be one of my prayer warriors for that month while I am in the corresponding country. Faith Rings come from Matthew 17:20 which says, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
The cost per ring is $11 or purchase all 11 rings for $111. There are a few different ways you can purchase a ring:
1. Click on “Support Me” on the left side of this page to donate online.
2. Send a check directly to Adventures in Missions, P.O. Box 534470, Atlanta GA 30353-4470. To ensure that your donation goes to me, please put Allison Edwards in the memo line.
After you make the donation online or by check, please send me an email at [email protected] with your ring size (6,7,8,9) and bead color.
I have been reading a book by Mark Batterson and I read something a few days ago that made me think of all my supporters. “You don’t have to influence thousands of lives to make a difference. Maybe you’re called to influence one person who will influence thousands….God gets all the glory for everything He does in us and through us, but there are people along the way who get some credit as well.”
Supporters, there are really no words to express how much appreciation I have for each one of you. I am so humbled by your generosity and desire to help me share the gospel over the next year. I love you all.
Allison
