I just got back from spending a week in Gainesville, Ga for World Race Training Camp.  I don’t think I could accurately describe what God did in my heart over this past week to you all.  All I can say is that God revealed himself and showered His love on me all week.  For the first few days of training camp, we were blessed with the speaking of Rob Reimer.  Rob challenged us to grow in our relationship with God and to do some serious soul care, like everyday soul searches that led to us only having Jesus to lean on to heal and restore.  It was exhausting, it was uncomfortable, but this part of training camp was such a blessing.  As an internal processor, I have yet to dig through everything, but I am looking forward to spending some time with Jesus and going through all of this.

The latter half of training camp revolved around more practical information regarding being a missionary in a foreign country or traveling in general.  Every day we were required to pack up our gear, tent included, and we ended up moving camp sites pretty much every night.  I think I can say with confidence that I have gotten pretty good at taking down and setting up my tent.  They simulated different things that could happen to us on the race, like the airline losing our bags.  My bag just so happened to be one that was “lost”.  Those of us who lost our bags had to rely on teammates to provide what we needed for the night.  I wore the same clothes for 48 hours and didn’t have a toothbrush, but thankfully my squad mate was kind enough to let me use her hammock to sleep in.  We also ate foods from a different part of the world each day.  I’m a picky eater, but this food was actually good! I ate things I’ve never eaten before, but at least I know now that I won’t starve in Asia!

I have so many more stories from training camp that I’d love to share, but the part I enjoyed the most was getting to meet my squad mates face to face.  These are people that I’ve been talking to over the past 6 months but actually getting to see them in person was amazing.  This is a great group of people and I am excited to spend this next year with them.  I was also placed in my team.  This is the small group of people that I will be working with while in country.  We named our team Mountain Movers.  God has specifically placed us all together and I can’t wait to see all of the things He does through us.

Launch is in 6 weeks! Holy smokes! A lot needs to happen over the next few weeks! Thank you for all of your support and prayers.  I truly couldn’t do this without the great support system I have behind me! I am so excited to share the world with you all!
