It’s also our home for the month. 32 of us.
While I was accompanying Matt on djembe during worship, I looked out to the crowd of men and women. Some sitting, few standing swaying to the music, worshipping Jesus. One man caught my eye. A tall man with black dreads was standing in the back hitting some drum sticks together to the beat. Later, Matt offered for anyone to go to the back for prayer. One of the few to respond was Mr.Drummer. All I could do was smile and pray for him as well from a distance.
Two weeks later, Susan, Laura and I were walking down the street coming back from ministry. Up in the distance was Mr. Drummer. He stopped us and humbly asked if we could pray for him because he missed church. We jumped at the opprtunity. He told us about his day, and openly expressed his struggle with depression. As I listened, I became filled with a drive, an energy, a supernatural passion. We began to pray. Immediately the Holy Spirit fell on us all. We prayed for deliverance. We prayed against depression, speaking directly to it, telling it it had no place in Mr Drummer. We prayed for him to be filled with hope, peace, LOVE, joy. We spoke blessings over his future to come.
He left feeling at peace, and filled with hope.
I saw Mr Drummer a few days ago, and asked him how he’s been doing. He hasn’t struggled with depression since.
