I was asked recently what I have been learning this month…
Simply: God is crazy insanely in love with me.
the past month has been one of the hardest, yet fulfilling months of my life. I have been made to Cling to my Savior. I have been at war against evil. Fighting my heart out. Sleepless nights. I have experienced some kind of physical ailment almost every day.
Overall. It's been a hard month…. but, more importantly a redemptive one.
On December 31, 2010 I declared that the year 2011 would be one of redemption.
This past Thursday, my team and I had the opportunity to go to Transitions Global, our ministry contact this month. We met the girls who are currently in the program and played a ton of games with them. It was an amazing time!
The redemptive part: We taught the girls the same games that I learned through the YMCA. (recap, I was let go from the Y in 2010. It was very unjust and broke me apart.) I got to USE the tools the Y taught me to bring so much joy to 11 teenage girls who have been through hell and back. That is what I call redemption.
God is funny that way…
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28
Again, God has been teaching me how much He is in love with me. Through the hard times this month, through the spiritual attacks, sickness, loneliness, and exhaustion, He simply tells me "I love you."
Through the laughing, good nights rest, quality time with a teammate, a hug from a street kid, worshipping Him on the roof, He whispers to me "I love you."
I am blown away by His love for me. How He ALWAYS provides for the day. How He never leaves. Never doubts me. Never yells at me. Never stops loving me! I am blown away by His provision. His Grace. His hope. His joy. His patience. His kindness.
He grants me with blessing after blessing after blessing. He provides safe food for my team and me everyday. He provides contacts for us to work with. HE WINS EVERY BATTLE FOR ME. When spiritual attack comes through lies, temptations, random untrue thoughts, I fight with truth, and He wins.
God loves me in abundance. He loves the girls we work with in abundance.
He loves YOU in abundance.
He loves YOU in abundance.
