Well, I suppose I should tell you a little about myself. For starters, my name is Allie Rothman. I am 24, and live in Toledo, Ohio. Yes, Allie is my real name, not short for anything. I am very impressed when people spell it write for the first time because it rarely happens. 🙂
Some things I love: the color green, T-shirts and gym shorts, chacos, , awkward moments, my church in Toledo, driving around alone at night, kids, friends, coca cola classic, deep conversation, spontaneity, reading, Gilmore Girls, Friday Night Lights, camping, Friday nights in with a movie and ice cream, good worship music, finding out what people are passionate about, hoodies…
I am really pumped about this adventure in January. I have never been overseas, nor even really out of the country… Culture shock coming? I think yes, but I'm pumped!
This trip is specified to Human Trafficking. It is crazy to think that not even a year ago, I didn't even know what that "phrase" meant. Through friends involved in ministries here in Toledo dealing with it, I have been made aware of the horrors and devastation of this problem. Especially since I live in Toledo, where it is ranked fourth in youth-sex trade in the U.S. Crazy!
any who, a little more about me: I have been following Jesus now for 5 years. Needless to say, a lot of those days I wasn't "following" Him, but man, has He been changing me.
flaw: I lose my keys and license a lot. They are normally in my car under the front seat, in my apartment front door, or in a back pocket of jeans in the dirty clothes. AKA I tend to lose things a lot. whoops.
I may not be great with money, but I LOVE playing random games, and being "recreational." I love throwing a Frisbee around in the park, or going on a hike in the park with a friend.
