Here I
am in Bangkok and I can’t believe I have completed yet another leg of the
Race. With Africa behind me I am
stepping into a new season. First of all
I just a recap of where I have been.
In Kenya
I experienced so much joy. I loved
meeting the people and just being in community with other believers. I also experienced the tough stuff like a
child and a teenager dying when their deaths could have been prevented.
In Uganda I experienced the Father’s love.
Bright and early say around 4 or 5 am the Lord would wake me up and we would
just spend time together. At first I was like “Lord do you know what time it is”
but as the time went on I was awake and eager to sit in my Daddy’s presence. I also had the opportunity to work with child
soldiers which has been a passion of my heart.
This was a sobering experience in recognizing the beauty that springs
from ashes.
In Tanzania I had opportunities to
share my testimony and saw a few young men come to know the Lord. One of the biggest things I learned or what
the Lord revealed to me is that we have the opportunity to go as deep as we
desire in the Lord but we have to be in the pursuit. The Lord is not a fan of lip service. Us saying we want more of Him but not willing
to go deep with him. Having our desires come
from our lips and not from our hearts is not what the Lord desires. Of
course in this He gives us an abundance of grace in our pursuit of Him.
Overall,
this last season prepared me to go deeper, to hunger and thirst for more, and I
am more secure in my identity as a daughter of the King. I am excited to see where God will lead me in
this next leg of the journey.
Here are pics from Tanzania.
Before we left we got a chance to go to Zanzibar this was such a
beautiful experience. http://picasaweb.google.com/richalissa/20101129Tanzania#
