First are the kids that were at our
campsite for a while.  Samuel, Catherine
and Thomas were some kids on Holiday with their mother at our campsite.

They quickly warmed up to us and Samuel
became great friends with my teammate Ashley. Samuel was probably the cutest Irish kid there is and quickly stole my
heart.  The kids were a great opportunity
for us to see how God works daily in our lives.
We were able to spend time with the kids share bible stories and
play.  Their presence was bitter sweet as
we loved to be able to share with them love and truth, but there were plenty of
nights it seemed they would never run out of questions or tunes to hum.  I really learned that God places people in
your path that you need to be ready be a representation of the love of
Christ.  Some days we were wore out after
a day of ministry but we never wanted to let that stop us from investing in
these precious kids. Angela, Ashley, and Nathan on my team did an excellent job
of always being ready to just love on the kids.
It really was a neat experience to watch God work.  The kids would join us for our nightly prayer
and most the time sat through it.  The last
night they were here we got to have a mini party with lots of treats.

I also will never forget the time
out with Padraig when  we were sharing the
Gospel with some teens under the Spanish Arch.
Two guys got in fight right next to us, and my job as a spotter was to
make sure Padraig was able to keep his attention on the teens.  So I saw this one guy walk away with blood all
over and he picked up a big brick, so I did what most people would do and marched
up to the guy and said “give me the brick”.
Much to my surprise he handed it to me and I preceded to walk him away
from the other crazy man. Tyler my body guard didn’t know what to say to me and
encouraged me to toss the brick and get out of the situation.  Well I did and waved at the guy to run when I
saw the other crazy guy come running with a knife.   I believe all ended well and they crazy guy
got arrested.

I will never forget getting slapped
on the arse by and old (as in 90) Irish man.
So here goes…I was standing by the girls face painting, which by the way
turned out amazing and my job was just to talk to people.  So I did my job and started talking to this
old man.  He shared lots of little things
and I had a chance to pray with him.  He
preceded to tell me how lovely I looked and if I wanted to get a bite to eat
the next day.  Then later he told me if
he were younger he would marry me and leaned in to give me a hug but was aiming
his lips for mine.  I quickly turned
away. Finally as the conversation ended he leaned in once again but I had
caught on to his tricks and had my head turned away.  Well that wasn’t good enough so he reached
out and slapped my bum 3 times.  I backed
up a little shocked to find Tyler my body guard once again behind me stunned as
well.  I left a little traumatized and as
much as I want to block it from my mind I don’t think I will ever forget
it.  Moral to the story…don’t trust old
Irish men and I need a new body guard.
