One of the first things I learned at training camp is that I can not have expectations. At first I was like that’s no fun and it is really hard not to have expectations. But I am finding it really isn’t so bad. This idea was first challenged when we found out our trip has changed. I was disapointed to find out we were no longer going to Israel and Egypt. (mostly for safety reasons). Now I am so confident in the fact that God has a perfect plan for this journey that I trust he will fullfill me beyond my expectations. We now will be heading to central America at the end of our trip. Possibly Nicaragua and Guatemala. I have thrown my hands up and said Lord wherever you want me I know you will do exceedingly and abundantly more than I can imagine as long as I am obediant to your will. Over the past few months I have stepped into my purpose and His plan for my life and with all the changes comes overflowing freedom and peace.
Now I have also met my new family for the year and they are just wonderful people. I am so excited to see God work and grow us together. Our team name is Umoja meaning unity in Swahilli. After praying for God to lead us to the name that he wanted our team to represent to the world this is what we felt God saying. Our verse is Ephesians 4-2:3 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Meeting them has eased the nervouseness as I know I will be spending the year with some very amazing people of God.
I do have a favor of my readers. A teammate of mine Kris Tippet is in need of financial support in order to go in 2 weeks. Although, I do still have funds to raise, I have met the goal to leave by mid June. I know God will be faithful and I am not in immediate need. If you were considering supporting me please in turn support her as a team we are one so visit her blog http://kristippett.theworldrace.org/. you can support her under the support tab. We need her to go, she is handling our finances. 🙂
