I saw a blog a week or two ago about another racer ( I forgot where he was) who was apolgizing to people on the street on behalf of Christians and Christianity for the harm that it causes. The idea has really been heavy on my heart. I think it is so true. I probably owe thousands of people an apology for the way I have judged, talked bad about, hurt and many more things all while claiming I’m a Christian. I guess what I want to get across here for those that may not understand why people claim to be Christians but are some of the most hateful and harmful people around, is that we are all human. I’m not trying to justify here just trying to maybe understand.
As a Christian the world has many ideas of who we should be and how we should act. But Christians live in the same world, have the same desires, and are exposed to the same things as everyone else. When you become a Christian there is this excitment and love (it’s different for everybody) but over all it changes you. After you have been changed by His amazing love you want other people to experience His love and believe what you believe. Some Christians judge others and get a “holier than thou” attitude and some argue to prove their faith. Some point the finger at everybody else in ways they should be better. They begin to miss the whole point of why they became a Christian in the first place. That Jesus loves them and forgives them. It becomes a war, many Christians fight to prove a point not to love as many people as possible.
Why I am so passionate about Jesus is because of the love that I experience when I read His word, pray, and the miracles that I have seen. But that love that is supposed to spill over from Him to me to the people I meet doesn’t always happen. I would love to always be an expression of what God really means to me but I’m not. God is always working with me to become better, this is a life long journey. I can’t speak for all Christians but many are really not a representation of who Christ is. For those Christians and to the people that I have been a misrepresentation, I apologize. Truly I do. I pray that Christians will continue to fight not to prove their faith but to prove they love all people. To those that do not believe in Jesus be patient with your fellow Christian brother as they are learning. To those that do love Jesus, let us walk as Jesus did with love and compassion for all.
I encourage you, if you question who Jesus is and you have had misrepresentations of Christ, to do your own research. I encourage you to read his word, pray, or whatever you have to do to learn more about the true Christ. It says in the word to those who seek shall find Him. Don’t be discouraged by all the Christians who are still learning to love unconditionally.
I had my first vision a week ago. It was like God pulled me into a bubble and all there was was love, everything was love. He just enveloped me with His love and He said “and there is room here for all.” In my heart I knew that God loves everyone we have no right here on earth to pick and choose who God loves he said “there is room here for all” not most, some, or few but ALL. Glory to Him!
