I watched Hannah and Karyssa’s (my sisters) show choir practice tonight, which was fun.  Competitions don’t begin until January and since I will be gone, I wanted to see and hear them, even in their beginning stages.  It was fun to see them working. 🙂

Oh, I guess I never did say what I got at REI a couple weeks ago.  Ryan – you asked, and I forgot. 🙂  I woke up that morning (Saturday, Oct 14) feeling like Christmas.  I met James Spano and Talia at the REI in Atlanta and we shopped for backpacks and shoes mostly.  We had a great associate who spent over an hour with Talia and I sizing backpacks, loading them with weight and having us try them on.  After walking around in several different ones, Talia and I each chose a backpack!!  Mine is a Gregory Electra, designed for women and fits me great, so long as I adjust all the million straps right (which will take some time to figure out.)   I also got a pair of Chacos sandals on sale – 30% off.  Happy Day!!

I can’t say enough how good it has been to be home, visiting friends and family.  It has been a blast to visit with my niece Julianna and have a little time for her to get to know me a little bit.  It’s been colder here than it probably is in Georgia, but it’s not too bad, wet and drizzly, but oh well…still just good to be home.

Had a great lunch visit with my old boss from Court Ave. Restaurant – got caught up on some of the Des Moines developments; visited with other Court Ave. friends on Monday evening and had opportunity to share what’s going on in eachother’s lives.  Tomorrow night should be a good night as well, with an open house here for my church family to come and visit.  After that I will be stopping back downtown to visit friends at Court Ave, who are working the “Halloween” night, costumed, even for work.  I worked last year, and had so much fun, I have to go and see everyone this year.
