Well we are living with another team in a small house about an hour south of Phnom Penh. Half of us are sleeping in beds and the other half in hammocks. Our house is just behind a church and small community of believers. Our main ministry is encouraging this piece of the body of Christ in the midst of a Buddhist nation. What does this look like?
English Classes are on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights. Our intermediate class has turned more into a Bible Study. Yeah, God’s pretty awesome! When the students were asked what they wanted to learn, they just started asking questions about being a believer. Most of the students are new believers.
Wednesday and Friday we go to villages to put on children’s programs and share with the adults. The pastor and one other man in the church have been doing this for a while; however, last week all of the new believers started joining them. So basically we are there to encourage them and show them how Christ has taught us to be bold in love.
Tae Kwon Do classes are on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
Sundays we have Sunday school for the kids, church, and then evening Bible Study.
Throughout the week we spend time with the people in this village by playing with the kids, going on walks, sitting with them as they work their neighborhood stores, and helping shave coconuts for them to make cross necklaces and key chains to sell.
