About Me….or something like that.
Hello Everyone!  My name is Alison Hope Franklin and I am from the GREAT state of Texas.  Yeehaw!  I’m a free-spirited hippie, free because of my Lord and Savior.  God has given me the burning passion for missions.  I love nature, every little thing about it!  I am actually a vegeterian and have been for almost four years but I know that may change on the mission field.  I can’t even kill a spider, honestly.  I went to college…and then I didn’t.  College may be in the future for me but as of now God has different plans for me.  I love music and art, not in the cliche “music is my boyfriend” kind of way…I just love what art does for your soul.  God gave us our gifts and talents to glorify Him.  I would love to use my art to glorify Him one day.
“I am leaving you with a gift, peace of mind and heart.  The peace I give is not like the peace the world gives so do not be troubled or afraid.”  John 14:27

^(This is my favorite verse!)

How did I get involved in Missions?
Well since you asked…

I went to a church camped called Super Sumer when I was 15 years old and they showed a video every night about the Invisible Children Foundation, which is an organization that raises awareness and money for the children in Uganda.  I couldn’t believe that this war was going on in Africa and had been for so long.  I could feel God pulling at my heart.  When we got back from church camp, I got together with some other kids in the youth group and we decided to do an all day festival to raise money for The Invisible Children Foundation.  We had several bands play, food, different booths, and showings of the Invisible Children documentary.  We ended up raising $6,000 in one day!
Years went by and it was finally my senior year.  I couldn’t stop thinking about going to Africa one day so I found an organization online and applied!  I was accepted and God provided in amazing ways.  The summer after my senior year, I went to Kampala, Uganda for two weeks.  It was so amazing to see God working over there and even more amazing that he was using me!  This quenched my thirst for only so long.
This past summer I spent seven weeks in Conima, Peru with six other people.  Our team was plagued with sickness but God provided joy throughout the trip.  I wasn’t home for long before I applied for The World Race and was accepted.  The pull that God has placed in my heart towards missions has become and intense tug of war, or it was.  I have finally decided to give the rope to God and follow his lead.  I’m excited and anxious for what lies ahead…and where I will be taken on this great journey called life!
