*This blog was accidently deleted and now I’m reposting it so It might be a little different than the orginial post*

Anu is a mother to a 4 year old named Samuel. She has been married for 8 years to Laal. Anu lives an active life and with a husband who is a trekker she often spends time climbing mountains. She is beautiful and used to be a model. She and Laal are both devoted to the Lord and have worked as missionaries.

This was Anu’s life 8 months ago.

Today, Anu is restricted to lying in bed majority of the past 8 months. With the help of Laal and a special back-brace Anu is able to be propped up against a wall a few hours a week in a sitting position. There is only a small list of things Anu is able to do without the help her husband. She needs him for the simplest task.

8 months ago Anu fell off her roof. She was watering plants slipped and fell. Anu’s spine was broken in multiple locations. Her skull was cracked. After an extensive surgery her spine is now held together by 8 screws. She is paralyzed from the waist down. She has bedsores and is constantly uncomfortable. Her spine is visible through a 2 inch hole.

Anu’s medical bills were going to be extreme. But through a medical program at the hospital where medical students pay to watch surgeries they were able to afford her surgery. Laal owns a shop down the road but because of Anu’s need of care he is unable to work like he used to. Anu, Laal, and Samuel live together in a room of a house smaller than a typical American bedroom. She is confined to this room. She has a wheelchair but because they live on the side of a mountain and their ‘driveway’ is mud she is unable to leave.

Doctors tell them she will never walk again but we believe in a God who is a healer. We believe that Anu will be healed through our prayers. Anu and Laal believe that God will heal her. They talk about the future and what they are going to do once God heals her.  Anu and Laal are starting to loose hope.

As I post this, Anu is in the hospital getting the hole in her back closed.  I believe there is an infection in her back that they are also trying to clear up.  Please keep her in your prayers

**UPDATE on ANU**
My teammate and I went to visit Anu on Monday.  When we walked in her room you could instantly feel a sense of joy.  Before her room felt sad and hopeless.  Anu and Laals moods were completely different than they were when visited her in the beginning of the month.  Anu was in the hospital for 2 weeks and just returned home the day before.  They were going to have to remove skin from her leg to cover the hole in her back but praise the Lord they were able to close it without another surgery!  She also is gaining sensation back in her stomach!  Their hope has been restored and are very thankful that everyone back home is praying for them, thank you!
