We started out the month (after our crazy long travel days) in Kaula Krai, Kelantan, Malaysia. We worked with a pastor who is so in love with God. This man, who I just call ‘Pastor’ mainly because I could never pronounce his last name / he never told us his first name, was always go go go so the 10 days we spent with him were also go go go. He fought for Jesus and he bears the scars to show that. He has been beaten up, chased around a house with a knife, left in a jungle to die, burned, has memory loss, and eye problems fighting for our God. His faith is so strong and when many of us would give up when our lives are at risk he is willing to die when sharing the Word of God. One of my teammates brought up the point that we so willing sign our lives over when we are doing something dangerous like rock climbing. We sign on the dotted line where it says that death could be the result of this. We usually don’t even think twice being signing this. But are you willing to sign your lives over to the one and only God that can save you? Are you willing to die to save another person from going to hell? Are you willing to die sharing the Gospel?
In the 10 days that we spent with Pastor my team and I…:
-preached at an Indian Church, 2 different Chinese Churches and an Indigenous Church (Since Kelantan is a Muslim state weekends are Friday & Saturday so church is not on Sundays here, instead church we went to church services held on Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays)
-drank more tea than I have probably in many years combined (8 cups some days)
-have eaten meat not being able to distinguish what is was, and Pastor couldn’t tell what type of meat it was either. Its always pork, shark, prawn, or chicken (I pretend its always chicken)
-went to churches where many languages were spoken, and there for translated in multiple languages
-prayed healing over more people than I could count
-went on many house visits
-rode in his ‘sweat box’ of a van many hours just to share the Gospel, awesome
-went ‘souvenir’ shopping, which was always just dollar stores that he would send us to while he ran other errands
-prayed for our lives while riding in his ‘sweat box’. I had forgotten how crazy drivers are here plus how bad the roads are
-were blessed by everyone we met. We came on the race to bless other people but in return we were so blessed.
-were blessed with so much food that we had to refuse it many times, usually we were still given the food so many times we had to pray for our stomachs to be stretched so we could eat all the food
-prayed over the land that will one day be where Pastor saves the lost and shares the Gospel
-relied on God after being put on the spot right before being asked to preach or coming up with games/songs/skits for kids. God always came thru but still caught us off guard many times
-put together programs for Chinese & Indian children
-sang songs in different languages, usually the same songs over and over and over again
In those 10 days I also became so much closer to God. I have fallen more in love with God than I thought possible. I have been in awe of His creations. I have discovered how awesome podcast sermons are. I get excited to wake up and read my Bible. I desire to be closer to Him than ever. He is the only man in my life right now and I am SO okay with that. My team has stretched me in ways that they don’t even know. Some days were hard to get thru and I had to rely on God’s strength but these last 10 days were life changing.
I am on the World Race. I can’t imagine myself anywhere else but here. I am living for every single day. I am loving life. I am truly HAPPY. Praise God!
