So just to give you guys an idea of what travel days are like on the World Race I typed up our lovely schedule from Australia to Malaysia.

 April 5th

-2.30pm load packs in pouring Australia rain and jump in the truck to the airport
-3pm arrive at airport, collect as many trolleys as possible to get all bags out of said truck
-3.20pm stand in line to check-in for flight, pray that my pack in underweight
-3.21pm packs overweight but I’m not charged!
-3.45pm spend leftover Australia dollars on food/drink for plane since JetStar does not serve drinks or food on international flights
-5.13pm hoard free ziplock bags, world racers LOVE free stuff
-5.15pm go thru international security, forget that I have liquids but get passed anyways…
-6.20pm board flight to Singapore
-6.35pm see the most amazing sunset on the plane, it included every color of the rainbow

 
-6.45pm attempt to listen to a podcast, fall asleep, fail

–Time Change–
-9pm arrive in Singapore
-9.15pm find a Starbucks in the airport, also find a swimming pool & supermarket
-10pm eat pizza at Pizza hut
-11pm begin to lay out our sleeping bags and mats to try to catch a few z’s
-11.01pm Jackhammering begins, why not start construction?
 
April 6th
-12am find a semi quiet place to sleep for the night

-12am-4.30am get lots of stares as we try to sleep at the airport, I guess we looked funny?
-5.45am-7am take metro, walk to bus station, wait for bus
-9am board bus to Malaysia
-2pm arrive in Kuala Lumpur, pouring rain
-3pm walk around high class mall wearing our packs, wet and smelly, again drying attention
-330pm realize we went to the KLCC and not the KLC where we are to meet our contact
-4pm take train to KLC, now late so contact leaves before we get there to pick up her kids
-430pm-6pm hang around train station waiting for contact

-630pm take taxis to bus station new bus station
-7pm wait for Brittani and Jessies taxi to show up at the correct bus station
-730-9pm hang out at smelly hot bus station, try to clean up in the bathrooms, haven’t showered in 72 hours by this point (might not seem like a lot but with traveling in hot hot weather everyone stinks)

-9pm-12am bus ride to Kuala Krai, forget that Asian bus drivers LOVE to drive very fast
 
April 7th
-1am bathroom stop, welcome back to squatty potties, forget toilet paper and my 30RM but nice man lets us pee for free
-3.14am wake up right as we arrive at the 7-11 where our new contact was set to meet us.,.but he’s not there, hoping we’re at the right 7-11?  Buy phone minutes to call contact and he arrives a few minutes later
3.45am arrive at Chinese church where we’re staying for a week
3.46am passs out
