Hello, everyone!
It has been exactly eight days since I updated… yes, I’ll admit it… between not always knowing what to say and the fact that I somewhat almost kind of forgot about the blog for a few days, it’s been a little longer than usual since I’ve posted.
Here’s a quick update on what is going on in my life…
1. Spiritually – I’ve been spending time in 1 John 4 and the gospels, especially Matthew. Lives have been on my heart and mind. I’ve been thinking about how life is for Americans, versus how life should be. As Pastor has been talking about our imagination lately, I’ve been trying to imagine God using me to bring freedom to those in the sex industry. I am trying to find balance between imagining God’s power from the darkest situations, but not actually imagining the darkest situations, if that makes sense. It’s hard to put my faith and imaginations there without actually going there.
2. Financially – if you haven’t already heard, I am fully funded for me trip! Thank you so much to everyone who has given to my trip – I can’t express my gratitude enough! In addition to the $7300 I needed for my trip, you may remember me mentioning that I am believing God for an additional $700 for me personally to cover other expenses like plane tickets to training camp. I am still believing for $450 more. Also, I am working on a “wish list” of sorts for some items I need for my trip but am hard-pressed to purchase for myself.
3. Emotionally – well, I am doing pretty well. I am getting less sad about leaving and more excited to see our world and return and tell the story! Tomorrow is my last Vesper’s until June… ahh! I am very excited for that and to give God thanks! I was thinking the other day that its funny that the song, “Take It All” is a praise song, since I am not frequently thrilled and jumping for joy when telling God that he can take every bit of me (usually I am either repentant or reluctant in these times). I am excited to praise God tomorrow to that song! Woooohooooooo! 🙂
