I had a fantastic time at the women’s retreat this weekend, if you can’t tell by this face… ๐
The subject was drawing near to God, with the key scripture being from James 4:8 NKJV: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” There is a lot more in that verse than it would seem during a quick read-through of James. I won’t go into all of that, though. ๐
During the retreat, I got to spend some much-needed time with some wonderful women of God, attempt to play volleyball, drink a lot of coffee, play an “interesting” game called Things… you have been warned :), talk about “girl things” (and “man things” like gangs… haha), be a cheerleader, relax, and go on a typical 2 a.m. walk. It was a blast!
But, the best part was this… the retreat ushered in God’s presence for me on Saturday night. God showed that, bottom line, He is my best friend. And best friends draw closer and closer to each other… draw near to God, He’ll draw near to you.
As being a Christian is a never-ending, always-exciting, supernatural adventure, I am excited to grow in my understanding of Jesus Christ as my very best friend. What does that mean? How do you connect with God physically? Per Psalms 139, I know God loves me and knows me so well, even better than I know me, but how do I grow to know Him that well? I am privileged and looking forward to finding these answers and truths about my God.
In the spirit of things… “Who’s yo King? Jesus! Who’s yo Lord? Jesus! Who’s yo Master? Jesus! Who’s yo Rock? Jesus! (And in my case…) Who’s yo best friend? Jesus!”
Have a wonderful day. ๐
