At the beginning of month five, World Race squads experience some major leadership changes. Alumni squad leaders prepare to return home from the field at the end of the month, and so they raise up and train new squad leaders to support and encourage us over the next seven months. This causes a ripple effect of changes for the rest of the squad as old leaders step down, new leaders step up and the original teams are shuffled around to create new ones.
Team Kenosis had four great months together, living, loving and growing together in Haiti, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador. But at the beginning of the new year, that season came to an end, and I entered Africa with a new team to journey with.
HULK: Heroines Unleashing the Lord’s Kingdom. Daughters of the Most High King walking in the boldness, power and authority of the Holy Spirit to bring Christ’s love around the world. Warriors preparing for battle against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

The idea of leaving Team Kenosis brought me to tears, and I spent a day mourning the change. We had wonderful times together and were able to start off the Race together on the right foot. I built long-lasting friendships on Kenosis, and the thought of not experiencing the rest of the Race together hurt.
But this new team is an amazing lineup. We have wise leaders, discerning encouragers, devoted prayer warriors. We have daughters walking in tune with the Spirit, ready to live radical lives and sacrifice for the Lord. We have gentle and kind and bold and honest and genuine and fun and loving women, all united in our desire to dive to deeper depths in our relationships with God. We’re committed to growing spiritually, both individually and as a team. We’re committed to seeking out and following God’s will and direction. And we’re committed to bringing our all to ministry every day, encouraging one another and trusting that the Lord will give us the words and the strength we need.
Team HULK is challenging me to grow in new ways as we step boldly into everything God has for us in this new season of the Race. Kenosis was the perfect team for the first four months, and HULK is the perfect one for this next period. The mourning period is over, and I’ve spent the last two months loving and growing with the wonderful women of this God-ordained team and rejoicing over the amazing things He has laid out for us in the coming months.
