There is something about total surrender to God’s sovereign plan for your life that is rivaled by no other feeling.
No, it is not always safe. No, it is not always pretty. No, it does not always feel good. No, it does not always smell good. But, no matter where you are or who you’re with, God is always good.
Last July, I had the opportunity to travel to Kitale, Kenya and work at a place called Mattaw Children’s Village.
It took four plane rides and a three hour car ride to get there, but man was it worth it.
Never in my life have I seen such an impoverished people overflowing with joy because of what Jesus had done in their lives. I saw people who had no car, no clothes, no house, no parents, and no money shout praises to the King because of what He had done for them.
What did He do for them? They’re still poor, right? They still live in poverty, right? Right. But their earthly situation had no effect on their spiritual position. They were in Christ. They were new. And they knew.
Kenya holds a special place in my heart because it was in that wonderful country where God wrecked my life. He showed me how much need there is in the world, how selfish I am, and what it looks like to have a meaningful impact on people’s lives.
I got the call in Kenya. I was going to be an international missionary.
It was this call that sparked a fire in my soul that has not stopped burning. God burdened my heart for the nations, and I won’t stop proclaiming Christ to the world until He calls me home.
God has called me to go, but I believe He has also called you to give. Would you prayerfully consider joining me in taking the Gospel to the nations? I need YOUR prayerful and financial support! Don’t miss out on what God is doing in the world! Thank you!
