You may not realize it now, but the people that we meet throughout our lives play a significant role in the person that we are right now. Think about someone that you’ve met that has completely changed the person you are. Sometimes, people make small impacts on a daily basis. For example, the generous man who buys your coffee or the smiley cashier who thanks you. Those people impact our lives by there generous and kind nature. The bad start to a day can be completely forgotten when we encounter these kind gestures. Maybe you’ve impacted someone’s life in a big way. For example, you were there for someone and didn’t leave them when times got tough. You encouraged them to keep going even when they wanted to give up. Instilling HOPE back into someone’s life is one of the best gifts you can give to someone.
We encounter millions of people in our lifetime, how many have we aimlessly passed by and ignored? The people we pass in the aisles of Wal-Mart or on the street usually go unnoticed. I am trying to vastly transform the way that I have been interacting with those around me. I want to live the life that God has for me and not be distracted by worldly things. Satan is so good at keeping us distracted, overwhelmed, and busy that we tend to forget about the simple everyday interactions with people. I not only want to change the random interactions with people but the relationships that i have with family and friends as well. I desire for each interaction to be more than just the simple hello. I want them to know that I care and I’m not too busy to talk with and encourage them.
In our church service this past Sunday we were encouraged to work as a team in this life and encourage one another. We need to uplift each other and let everyone know they’re not alone. God is right there beside each one of us; walking in this life alongside us. Encourage one another to not lose hope! I pray that God will allow this change in my life to be apparent to those around me and that I won’t allow satan to distract me or lead me astray. I want to encourage and instill hope to all those that God brings into my life.
Have you been encouraging during tough times or did you leave when things began to get rough? Either way, pray that God will give you the strength and courage to do what is right and come alongside those that are hurting. Pray for them and show them God’s love and mercy.
Lord, I pray for your strength and that your will be done in my life. Allow me to become like Barnabas and encourage those around me. Help me to not be defeated or discouraged by satan’s lies. Allow me to see and feel your presence in the midst of trials. Help me to strengthen relationships and show those around me the love and care you have for them. Your love and mercies never fail us and you’re worthy of all of our praise. Thank you, Lord, for opening my heart to see the need for change. I pray that you will continue to open my heart and mind as I continue on this journey. May I continue to be stretched, molded, and changed into the woman you created me to be. Amen!
