My name is Alayna Schlafley, and I was born and raised in Peoria Illinois. With the exception of a few years I lived in Colorado! I have an amazing family that I love so dearly; Max and Bridget, my parents. Brieanna, my older sister, and her husband TJ Paluska. And my little brothers Dane and Peyton, who are twins:)
I love to play soccer! I have played my whole life, and played two years in College. I earned my associates at Illinois Central College and was going to school to be a teacher, but God had other plans for me and called me to ministry! I have always had a huge passion for missions and besides Mission Peoria, a missions trip for students to serve the inner city of Peoria ran through my church and the Dream Center Peoria, I had never actually gone out of the country on a missions trip. Until God opened some doors for me to go on a two week missions trip, at the end of my sophomore year in college, to Israel. God opened up my eyes to so much through this trip and kept working on my heart for missions. After getting my associates I joined a ministry program called ACE Teams, ran through my home church and the Dream Center Peoria. God has been preparing me for a time such as this, to now go on the World Race, to serve in 11 different countries for 11 months! I can not be more excited to see how God will move in these countries, and in my life!
