September 7: There are four World Race squads and one Passport team re-united here in Atlanta, about ~200 people. Mom & Dad are here, meeting other parents, racers, and the leadership!
It's sad leaving home, goodbyes are hard. Kari Jobe has this song with these lyrics "I know that You are for me, I know that You are for me, I know that You will never forsake me in my weaknesses". Those lyrics played through my head continuously throughout my goodbyes and my flights down here, like a song you can't get out of your head – but in this case it never became annoying.
What made the difference was seeing my team, my squad, the other racers, and Mom and Dad.
God please help change my sadness to joy. It truly is an honor and a privilege to be able to be able to go be an ambassador for You.
September 8: Today we spend lunch with our team and our parents. Then we say the last goodbye, the hardest one. Please pray for us.
