MONTH 2: NEPAL

Nepal took my team and I by surprise.

When we received our set up sheet and we were told we would be working on a Yak Ranch on a mountain in Nepal.

When we arrived there was undoubtably a mountain but NO YAKS!

Not that I know anything about tending yaks or yak ministry anyhow.

We spent the month landscaping and doing manly tasks to help construct a mission’s training base and hotel (yay blisters from pick axes and shovels).

While we loved the vision our host had for building the kingdom, the most precious moments of Nepal were spent in my cozy bunk bed during team times, in my hammock studying the Word or the crazy rooftop bus rides up the mountain.

Our team really bonded this month and learned to enjoy each other (thank you Jesus!).

We also had memorable weekend getaways to Pokhara to relax and recover from the long days of manual labor.

If I could only say one thing about Nepal, I would say it screams God’s glory.

The Lord taught me that true romance comes from Him.

His creation is a constant reminder of His attention to detail and desire for us to see His beauty and rest in it.

I am so grateful for my time spent on Mt. Machhapuchhare.

MT EVEREST

We spent our debrief in Kathmandu and had the opportunity to fly close to Mount Everest!

SUNRISE IN POKHARA

disclaimer: I’m sure the race from my pictures looks like all play and no work. While we do typically get one full off day/week on the race the majority of time is spent joining with ministries to serve and build Gods kingdom in many different ways.
