About a week ago I posted this blog about raising money for bibles in Rwanda. I am happy to report that several people have generously given money to this cause! So far I have been able to buy about 40 bibles! My goal is to raise enough money to buy at least 50 bibles before I leave in just one week!
Each bible costs $8 (or 5,000 Rwandan francs). Not too much money as far as American standards go… but for Rwandans this is very expensive. Bibles are easy to buy, but many people who go to church here do not even own a bible because they cannot afford one 🙁
I have been so blessed to be able to hand out the bibles to several people that have accepted Christ into their lives, to a church that I preached at in Masaka, Rwanda, who was in need of bibles for their leaders, and to people who are already Christ followers but cannot afford a bible.
Thank you to those of you who have donated so far! I wish you could see the smiles on the faces of the people who receive the bibles — they are full of such joy and appreciation. It is truly a gift that they will forever cherish!
