We serve a good and loving God. I am so grateful for all of the blessings the Lord has given me. I want to praise and honor Him in what I think, say and do. I want to bring the Father joy through my blog and I want to encourage others through this blog as well. I have been praying that this blog would be an accurate reflection of my heart and my relationship with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. I am so encouraged by the kindness, generosity and support I have received from others in preparation of this trip. I want you all to know how thankful I am for any type of support you have provided. It has encouraged me and allowed me a chance to grow closer to the Lord. I am also so thankful for my brothers and sisters in Christ who have commited to praying for me and this upcoming mission. My heart is full of love and it’s a bitter sweet moment because I will miss you all but I am so excited to see what the Lord has to offer through this year.

I recently learned of a silly acronym: SPACE PETS, which is a helpful way to go through your Bible. The break down of the acronym is as follows:

Sin to confess?

Promise to claim?
Attitude to change?
Command to obey?
Example to follow?
Prayer to pray?
Error to avoid?
Truth to believe?
Something to praise God for?

I have been reading through the book of James and for each chapter I am considering these questions. I thank Tricia (wife of Pastor Marty at The EDGE, for all of you who don’t know her) for introducing me to this and for her willingness to disciple me. Pastor Marty encouraged us several months ago to either be discipled by someone or to disciple someone if we are spiritually mature enough. I took him up on his challenge and Tricia was willing (I didn’t even know her and now she’s part of my prayer support team!). It has been a blessing to meet on a regular basis with a sister in the Lord who I know is rooted in Christ and willing to pray with me and help me grow in my relationship with Jesus.

So there you go, two challenges for you:
1. Either be discipled or help disciple someone else
2. Go through your Bible using the SPACEPETS
Then, watch how your relationship with the Lord changes as you are able to grow in the body of Christ and grow in your study of the Word.
