So blogging, as some of you might have guessed, is not something that I am very good at. Let me sit with you and I can talk pretty much non stop, but putting my words on paper is a completely different story. I think that as I write my blogs they are going to sound as though I am talking to a friend, random side notes and all. Lol I have been trying to keep a daily journal to help me keep track of everything that has been going on; we shall see how this goes.

Soooo this is what has been going on in my life

Fundraising:

Fundraising has been like riding a roller coaster at first I am so excited and like oh yeah lets do this!!! Then I sit down and I’m like ummmmmmmm and then it starts clicking up the incline and the mind is going Oh Goodness I Can’t Do This!!!! And the crazy voice in my head is right I can’t do this…not on my own. Only through God will I make it to the end of this ride with a smile on my face.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.                                                                                                    – Proverbs 3:5

I have become much better about not checking my account multiple times a day or even every day. When days would go by and nothing new had been added it defiantly broke me down. I have had many thoughts of questioning what I am doing and doubt.

Do not let your heart be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.

– John 14:1

To date I have raised $1,500 out of $16,254. 9% WooHoo J Slowly but surely. I trust in the Lord that the funds will be raised.

Currently I am having a t-shirt fundraiser. The shirts come in pink or blue and can be ordered in both adult and youth sizes (don’t forget about the kiddos). If you are interested in placing an order please send me a message or comment below. The shirts are $25 each. The last day to place your order is Monday, March 10th.

If you do not feel led to purchase a t-shirt your continued prayers for myself and my fellow World Race team members is greatly appreciated.

Gear Shopping (Packing Organization):

So I started the task of gear shopping. You know backpack (my life in a bag), sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent, ect. So far I have only visited REI and walked around with a backpack on for about an hour as well as started an Amazon Wish List for some smaller item ([email protected]). It was a little over whelming as I really was going into this with no knowledge of what would work for me. I haven’t made any purchases yet but I for sure started to think a lot about how in the world am I going to pack for 11 months.

I have always been an over packer. Like really bad; I like to have options. That was actually one of the questions my own grandmother asked me “Addie how are you going to pack”. Honestly I really don’t know yet but I have started a very organized Excel spread sheet with multiple tabs to help. Lol I am sure it is a little much, but it will help me for sure in the end. Whenever I think of something I may need I go ahead and add it to the list. We shall see what actually makes it into the backpacks.

½ Marathon:

Major accomplishment in February I participated in my 1st ½ marathon!! It was the Disney Princess ½ Marathon. I had the opportunity to run through the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Disney really make runs fun (this was my 2nd, I participated in the Tower of Terror 10 miler last October).

I had some moments that I really had to call on the Lord. My phone died on me just after I started into the Magic Kingdom, which really brought me down. I know that it wasn’t a huge deal but I really wanted to get a picture with Mickey and Minnie in front of the castle, I had been looking forward to this the entire run and I still had another 6 miles to go. I was able to get my phone to come back on shortly after leaving the Magic Kingdom, it just wasn’t meant to be..oh well. I made the most of this run. I had fun and made sure to stop along the way to take picture with the characters, because who knows when I am going to have the opportunity again.
